Staronorveška Runska Rima datira med koncem dvanajstega in začetkom trinajstega stoletja. Jasno je videti,da izhaja iz iste zapuščine kot Staroislandska Runska Pesem, čeprav ima nekaj krščanskih elementov.
Sestavljena je iz šestnajstih kitic, kjer vsaka predstavlja en runski znak. Vsaka kitica je iz dveh vrstic, ki sta na prvi pogled nepovezani, a druga predstavlja ezoterični pomen prve.
